Many years ago, Sam Smoothy's father climbed in the Andes mountains. Brought up with countless stories of these adventures, Sam endeavours to follow his fathers footsteps. Joining him on the trip are good friends Johnny Collinson and Fraser McDougall. With skis in tow, they experience a trip of a lifetime.
The North Face presents Lost Gringos. As part of a series of short films, TNF follows the story of free-skier Sam Smoothy as he follows in his father's footsteps by climbing the Andes mountains. Brought up on stories of his father's achievements, Sam bids to make the trip for himself with pals Johnny Collinson and Fraser McDougall along for the ride. Filmed by Colab Creative.

“I love the complex history of the area, that vibrancy of the local culture,” Sam explains. “Then there was that unknown of skiing at altitude and the whole scene was totally unlike anywhere I had ever been.”
